Numbers

Preschool this week has been very low key. We're just working on numbers and counting so we have spent time in our favorite workbooks doing number activities. Dot to dots (connect the dots) are new favorites.

Next couple weeks may or may not happen as we are traveling. Check back in July!

Activities:
Run in sprinklers
Blow bubbles
Talk about sunburns...preventing, etc

Ice Cube Boats...put water in ice cube tray, put strips of tape over the tray and stick tooth picks in each cube (the tape holds the toothpicks up right while the water freezes). Then freeze. You can add tissue paper or what not to make a sail. Put cubes in tube or other water. As they melt the float across the water.

Activity:
Color game...I name the color of an object in English or Spanish, James repeats in other language. He then names a color and I repeat in other language.


We have decided to learn Spanish as a family so we started with these kid books and videos. We have some dvds to listen to on our next long car trip. Hopefully we can pick something up!

Activities:
Read site and did coloring at KidZone

Also did activity at KidZone...Freeze cardboard. One hour later boil water. As water evaporates point out evaporation, hold frozen cardboard over pot. Water will condense, point out condensation. As water collects will then fall back in pot...precipitation.

Rain, Rain, Rain

This week preschool is about rain and the water cycle.

Due to my husband being in the hospital for lung surgery the post will have to wait until next week. Check back then.
